State should not interfere in press freedom: Shivpal Yadav

The freedom of press and speech should be left at the discretion of the journalists and state should not interfere in the matter, a state minister said today.
UP minister for PWD and Irrigation, Shivpal Yadav said, "while writing, journalists should keep in mind the interest of nation and society."
Yadav was addressing a seminar organised on the occasion of 50th death anniversary of noted journalist and MP, K Ramarao.

He also released a book 'Ek Patrakar Ki Rajnaitik Vichar Yatra' written by noted journalist K Vikram Rao.
Yadav said that freedom of expression is the right of everyone but it should be used with caution.
On the occasion, editor of Jansatta, Om Thanvi said that sharing information with the reader is not the only duty of journalist but the newspapers must also evoke thoughts and views.
