Stormy wind kills 4 in Amethi

As many as four persons were

reportedly killed and three others injured in a strong storm that lashed parts of Amethi district last evening.

The stormy wind, which disrupted public life, killed two each in Mohanganj and Kamrauli police station areas of the district, police said today.

The severe storm uprooted trees, electricity poles, hoardings and hutments, causing major damage to public and private property.

The deceased were identified as Mohandeyi of Benipur and Daya Ram of Bhikhipur under Mohanganj police station, and Priyanka of Sithauli and Mohammad kaif of Lal ka Purwa under Kamrauli police station.

Three others -- Sukhmata of Dinesh ka Purwa, Anarkali of Thauri and Alatiya of Sidhiyawa -- in Jagdishpur police station area received injuries, police said.
