Dinesh D'Souza has reportedly prevailed in a legal dispute related to his film '2016
The filmmaker said that he was relieved to be vindicated on all counts.
A "final reward" was issued by an arbitrator in favour of D'Souza following a legal battle against Doug Sain over money and ownership stakes on the film.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, arbitrator J. Richard Haden found that D'Souza raised 2.14 million dollars for 2016 while Sain and Christopher Williams together introduced just 260,000 dollars and since Sain has already been paid $170,000 in finder's fees, he would have to disgorge 157,000 dollars, which he had taken without authority.
The issue had been on since last one year and the final award puts an end to the dispute. Also, it is reported that D'Souza had already won an interim award handed down in December.
