Sugar continues to rule firm on rising demand

Both varieties of sugar prices continued to rule firm at the Vashi wholesale market today following rising demand from stockists and retailers.

Small sugar (S-30) advanced by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,482/3,582 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 3,482/3,572.

Medium sugar (M-30) surged by Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 3,542/3,672 per quintal as compared to Rs 3,542/3,652 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,482/3,582 (Rs 3,482/3,572).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,542/3,672 (Rs 3,542/3,652).
