Sugar drops in reduced demand

Prices of both the varieties of sugar dropped at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced demand from stockists and retailers.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 18/52 per quintal to Rs 3,662/3,800 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,680/3,852.

Medium sugar (M-30) dipped by Rs 80/30 per quintal to Rs 3,720/3,862 as against Rs 3,800/3,992, yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,662/3,800 (Rs 3,680/3,852).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,720/3,862 (Rs 3,800/3,992).
