Sugar drops on reduced demand amid supply pressure

Both varieties of sugar prices dropped at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced demand from stockists and retailers.

Small sugar (S-30) dipped by Rs 23 per quintal to Rs 2,152/2,282 from tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,152/2,305.

Medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 8 per quintal to Rs 2,252/2,502 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,260/2,502 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,152/2,282 (Rs 2,152/2,305).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,252/2,502 (Rs 2,260/2,502).
