Sugar eases on good supplies

Prices of both varieties of sugar moved down at the Vashi wholesale market today due to lack of demand from stockists and retailers amidst ample supplies.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 10 per quintal Rs 3,090/3,205 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,100/3,205.

Medium sugar also declined by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,212/3,372 as against Rs 3,212/3,382 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,212/3,372 (Rs 3,212/3,382).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,090/3,205 (Rs 3,100/3,205).
