Sugar extends weakness on selling pressure

Sugar millgate prices were down by Rs 5 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today largely due to increased selling by millers amidst reduced offtake by bulk consumers.

Marketmen said persistent selling by millers against sluggish demand, mainly led to the fall in sugar prices.

In millgate section, Budhana and Dhanora were down by Rs 5 each to Rs 3,070 and Rs 3,060 per quintal.

In line with general trend, Kinnoni and Khatuli sugar also eased by Rs 5 each at Rs 3,150 and Rs 3,120 per quintal respectively.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):
 

Sugar retail markets - Rs 33.00-35.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 (Rs 3,180-3,300); S-30(Rs 3,170-3,290).

Mill delivery: M-30 (Rs.3,030-3,155);

S-30(Rs.3,010-3,140).

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana (Rs 3,110); Kinnoni (Rs 3,150); Asmoli (Rs 3,130); Dorala (Rs 3,080); Budhana (Rs 3,070); Thanabhavan (Rs 3,070); Dhanora (Rs 3,060); Simbholi (Rs 3,120); Modi Nagar (Rs 3,050); Khatuli (Rs 3,120); Dhampur (Rs 3,040); Ramala (Rs 3,050); Bulandshahr (Rs 3,070); Anupshahr (Rs 3,040); Baghpat (Rs 3,060); Morna (Rs 3,060); Sakoti (Rs 3,060); Chandpur (Rs 3,045) and Nazibabad (Rs 3,050).
