Press Trust of India New Delhi
Sugar prices eased by 0.30 per cent to Rs 3,630 per quintal in futures market today as traders reduced positions amid slackened demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, sugar for delivery in July fell by Rs 11, or 0.30 per cent to Rs 3,630 per quintal with an open interest of 32,020 lots.

In a similar fashion, the sweetener for delivery in May shed Rs 10, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 3,489 per quintal in 1,26,740 lots.

Analysts said the fall in sweetener prices at futures trade was mostly due to easing demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position.
