Sugar gains on good demand

Both the varieties of Sugar prices gained modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today on good demand from stockist and retailers amidst good offtake from millers on the back of ensuing festivities.

Medium Sugar (M-30) climbed by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,172/3,312 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 3,166/3,312.

Small sugar (S-30) also moved up by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,026/3,145 as against Rs 3,020/3,145 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,172/3,312 (Rs 3,166/3,312).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,026/3,145 (Rs 3,020/3,145).
