Sugar prices tumbled by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following mounting stocks position amid restricted buying.
Marketmen said besides heavy stocks position on unintruppted supplies from mills amidst absence of necessary buying support form bulk consumers such as soft-drink and sweet makers mainly pulled down sweetner prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices dropped from Rs 3,240-3,370 and Rs 3,230-3,360 to end at Rs 3,220-3,350 and Rs 3,210-3,340 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,060-3,190 and Rs 3,040-3,180 per quintal.
In millgate section, Ramala and Baghpat suffered the most with prices falling Rs 50 to close at Rs 3,060 and Rs 3,070, while Daurala lost Rs 45 at Rs 3,125 per quintal.
Sugar Mawana and Morana fell Rs 40 each at Rs 3,140 and Rs 3,070 per quintal, while Asmoli, Dhampur and Sakoti slipped Rs 35 at Rs 3,155, Rs 3,080 and Rs 3,085 per quintal.
Prices of Budhana, Khatuli, Bulandshar and Nazibabad too eased by Rs 30 each at Rs 3,115, Rs 3,150, Rs 3,090 and Rs 3,060 per quintal.
