Sugar rules steady in muted trade

Prices of medium and small sugar varieties ruled stable in an otherwise mute Vashi wholesale market here today in the absence of any major buying activity as well as ample supplies.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,926/3,995 (Rs 3,926/3,995).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 4,010/4,256 (Rs 4,010/4,256).
