Shares of Syngene International today plunged over 6 per cent per cent after a fire broke out at the company's premises in Bengaluru yesterday.
The stock opened at Rs 613 and then dived 6.04 per cent to touch an early low of Rs 594 on BSE.
Similar movement was seen on the National Stock Exchange, where it opened at Rs 612 and slipped 6.58 per cent.

On Monday, the fire broke out at the premises of Syngene, the contract research subsidiary of Biocon, but there were no reports of any casualties.
"... There has been an incident of fire at the Syngene campus, Jigni Link road, which has been brought under control with the assistance of local authorities," the company said.
The benchmark Sensex was trading at 26,592.96, up 0.29 per cent, from its previous close.
