Addressing a post-match press conference here, Salgaocar Coach Karim Bencherifa expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the match against Prayag United, Kolkata but said one should not expect a quality football under the prevailing conditions.
"It (slippery ground conditions) was a challenge for us as well as our opponent and one should not expect a quality football in such conditions," Bencherifa said, adding that there was no exhibition of technique and intelligence in the match.
"Our boys, however, adapted to the prevailing ground condition and won," he said.
Asked whether his team officials have made any formal complaint in this regard, Bencherifa said, "We have sent an e-mail appealing them to shift a match at Keenan Stadium, which was apparently better than JRD Tata Sports Complex where the qualifying round of the 34th Federation Cup was held in the second week of this month."
Prayag United coach Sanjoy Sen too echoed a similar view, saying that the ground conditions turned worse today as compared to the opening match. More
