Teen kidnapped, Rs 12 lakh ransom demanded

Lovejeet, a class VIII student, was abducted yesterday when he was on his way to school, SSP of Tarn Taran district, Manminder Singh, said.

The boy's father lodged a complaint with the police this morning after he received a call demanding Rs 12 lakh as ransom for his son's safe release.

Police traced the call to one Lakhwinder Singh, a resident of Ammi Shah Wala village in the district, officials said, adding a search operation is on to rescue the boy and to nab the culprits. PTI CORR
