A teenaged girl was allegedly gang-raped and murdered in this district, following which villagers staged a protest demanding immediate arrested of the accused, police said tonight.
The body of the 14-year-old girl was found lying in an agricultural farm this evening. She had gone missing after she went to the farm with her father.
"The girl was gang-raped and then strangulated to death. Villagers protested and blocked road demanding immediate arrest of the accused," superintendent of police Rajesh Singh said.
Police officers are camping in the area and a hunt has been launched to nab the accused, he added.
