Teenager drowned during Chhath festival

A teenaged boy was drowned in Swarnarekha river while taking bath on the concluding day of the Chhath festival at Chandil in Seraikela-Kharswan district today, police said.

The victim, Abhisekh Mishra, a resident of Adarshngar under Olidih police station here, has gone to Chandil along with his family members to observe rituals of the festival at a ghat.

Mishra went a distance away from the family members to take bath and drowned in the river, police said.

The body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem examination.
