Telangana Governor, CM extend Bakrid greetings

: Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday conveyed greetings to the Muslim community on the eve of Bakrid (Id-Ul-Zuha).

"On the solemn occasion of Bakrid (Id-ul-Zuha), I extend my cordial greetings and good wishes to all my Muslim brethren in the state. Bakrid holds immense significance in the Islamic faith and is celebrated with great reverence, Narasimhan said in an official press release.

Bakrid symbolises sacrifice, absolute devotion to God and compassion for the poor.

It also emphasises the principle of sharing, the Governor said adding let this spirit of charity and goodwill towards all be cherished and nourished.

 

Extending Bakrid greetings, Rao in a message said it's a festival of sacrifice and reminds every one to follow the noble teachings of the prophet and imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, compassion and tolerance for fellow beings.
