Telangana government would launch an year-long celebration of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar starting from April 14, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said here today.
The government has already decided to install a 125ft bronze statue of Ambedkar, said to be the tallest in the country, here.
The statue would be installed in the NTR Park, Sri Hari said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would lay its foundation stone on April 14 and it would be inaugurated on April 14 next year.
A Centre for Dalit Studies would also be set up in the city, he said.
