Telangana: murder accused attempts suicide inside courtroom

An accused in a murder case attempted to commit suicide after he was convicted by the court here today.

Mohd Yousuf (27), native of Potharam village of Dubbaka mandal in Medak district, faced the charge of brutally murdering his wife Ghousia Begum (24).

As family court judge G Venkata Rama Krishnam Raju today pronounced the ruling, Yousuf pulled out a blade from his pocket and slashed his throat inside the courtroom.

He was shifted to hospital and his condition was said to be critical, police said.
