Third round of JK Tyre-FMSCI Karting from tomorrow

Over 40 young karters will be seen in action in the third round of the two-day JK Tyre-FMSCI National Rotax Karting Championship beginning here tomorrow.

The drivers will race on karts with the Evo Max engines, a new introduction this year, which is intended to enhance their performance.

After witnessing thrilling action in round one and two, the third round at Kari Motor Speedway circuit on the outskirts of the city is sure to keep the adrenaline levels high not just among the racers, but also the audience.

The qualifying and heats will be on Saturday and the pre final and final races will be held from Sunday morning.
 

After two rounds, Shahan Ali Mohsin from Agra (Team Meco Racing) in Micro Max category, Mohammed Nallawalla from Mumbai (Team Rayo Racing, owned by eight time National champion Rayomand Banajee) in Junior Max category and Ricky Donison from Bangalore (Team BPC Racing owned by Robert Donison) in Senior Max category lead in the overall championship points table.

Spectators will get an opportunity to witness three Sri Lankan karters who will take part in the Junior Max & Senior Max categories in this round.

The six teams participating in the Championship are Rayo Racing from Mumbai, Meco Racing from Chennai, Mohite's Racing from Kolhapur, BPC Racing from Bangalore, Erda Racing from Baroda and Dark Don Racing from Chennai.

The drivers representing the six teams will be divided in three categories on the basis their age: Micro Max (7 yrs-12 yrs), Junior Max (13-yrs-15 yrs) & Senior Max (15 yrs & above).

Winners of the Championship represent India in the Rotax Max World Finals held every year.
