Third unit of Tuticorin plant taken up for maintenance work

The third unit of the Tuticorin Thermal Power Station has been shut down for maintenance, officials today said.

The work would be taken up for 20 days. Barring the third unit, power generation from other four units was in full swing, the officials aid.

There are five units in the plant and each unit could generate 210 mw.
