Thomas Cook (India) has reported a surge in profit after tax during the quarter ended March 31, 2014, to Rs 8 crore due to healthy performances by inbound and foreign exchange businesses.
The integrated travel and travel related financial services company's Q1 PAT stood at Rs 1.4 crore during the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal, Thomas Cook (India) said in a release issued here.
The company's financial year is from January to December.

Ansal University, Max Institute tie-up for med courses * Ansal University has inked a pact with Max Institute of Health Education and Research (MIHER), a division of Max Healthcare, to set up a school for various medical courses.
Ansal University, Gurgaon, has entered into an association with MIHER to set up a 'School of Allied Health Sciences', Ansal University said in a statement.
MIHER will provide academic supervision, pedagogy and undertake program monitoring of the curriculum, it added.

Su-Kam installs solar power systems
* Su-Kam Power Systems, a power back up solutions provider has announced installing solar power systems in over 10,000 houses in seven districts of Tamil Nadu.
This is under the Chief Minister's Solar Powered GreenHouse Scheme launched by TEDA (Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency).
The company will make 2,500 additional solar installations under this phase of the project by the end of May 2014.
Under the state government scheme 3 lakh houses will be constructed with solar powered lighting systems over a period of 5 years from 2011-12 to 2015-16 for the benefit of poor in rural areas.
