Thoor, urad and gram dal surged while wheat declined on the opening day in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.
However, rest all other commodities ruled steady.
Gram dal was up by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 6,200 from its closing rates of Rs 5,700 while urad dal rallied by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 10,700 from it previous rate of Rs 10,500.

Thoor dal was up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 10,900 from its closing rates of Rs 10,800. Wheat, however, fell by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 2,700.
Moong dal (Rs 10,000), sugar (Rs 2,450), maida (90 kgs) (Rs 2,400) and Sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,000) ruled steady on its opening day.
