Three held for betting on IPL matches

Three persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in betting on the ongoing IPL matches in Chandausi police station area of Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, police carried out a raid in Raj locality last night and found the men allegedly placing bets on the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Three accused have been arrested while an accomplice managed to escape, they said.

Police recovered five mobile phones, a TV set with set-top box, two diaries and Rs 15,120 cash from their possession.
