Three killed, 15 injured as bus overturns in Birbhum district

Three persons were killed and 15 others injured when a speeding bus today overturned in Nalhati, about 65 km from here, police sources said.

The private bus was going to Ranchi in Jharkhand from Siliguri when it overturned at Nalhati in Birbhum district this morning, the sources said adding that the injured have been admitted to Rampurhat hospital.

The dead have been identified as Lakshman Barla of Sundargarh in Odisha, Mogra Nagasia and Anu Ora from Ranchi, they said.

Locals alleged that the bus overturned while negotiating a big pothole in the National Highway (NH) 60.

They said that the condition of the NH 60 is very bad and accidents happen everyday due to poor road condition.
