Three peacock found dead in Raj

Three peacocks were today found dead after consuming suspected poisonous tablets mixed in fodder in Sabbalpura village, 15 kms from Jahajpur town in Bhilwara district, a forest official said.

Meanwhile, two other peacocks were also found writhing in pain, at the same spot who were then sent to a hospital.

The sick peacocks were admitted to the Jahajpur veterinary hospital where their conditions were stable, the official said.

The three carcasses were sent for postmortem and forensic comments at the same hospital, he said.

A forest guard Mool Singh, was informed by the villagers of th incident this morning.

After the forensic report, the forest department would file a case against unknown poachers, he added.
