Three persons killed, five injured in Arunachal accident

At least three persons were killed and five others injured, when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down into a 100 feet ditch, police said.

The accident occurred late yesterday night near Karmajuli bridge, when the vehicle on its way to Naharlagun from Banderdewa, rolled down from NH 415 and fell into a ditch.

Two persons died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital, Naharlagun police station sub inspector P Taku said.

The deceased were identified as Lakhan Chetri (32) of Dhekiajuli, Wasir Mansur (51) of Sitamari district of Bihar and Yalop Rome (40) a staff nurse of Tomo Riba State Hospital, Naharlagun.
 

One seriously injured has been evacuated to a hospital in neighbouring Assam.

The police team led by SI Taku rushed to the spot to conduct rescue operation.
