One fisherman went missing and another was injured today when a tiger attacked them in Sundarbans in South 24-Parganas district.
Asidhar Mondal was attacked and taken away by a tiger when he was catching fish and crabs with friends in a canal in Sundarbans mangrove forest, forest officials said.
He has been missing, they added.
Another fisherman Khagen Mondal was mauled by the tiger and he was taken to a local hospital in a seriously injured condition, sources said.
A group of five fishermen went to catch fish in the jungle this morning and the tiger attacked them during midday.
