TMC councillor shoves traffic sergeant, case lodged

A police case was lodged against a Trinmaool Congress councillor of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation today for allegedly shoving a traffic sergeant on duty in Santoshpur area of the city, the police said.

Sanjay Das, the councillor, was accused of shoving the sergeant when he was trying to stop a taxi from being parked in a no parking area midnight last night.

After a quarrel broke out between the taxi driver and the sergeant, Das who was nearby intervened and, during an argument, allegedly shoved the sergeant.
