Unidentified miscreants today allegedly stole a bag containing 20 kg silver and Rs three lakh cash from an Indore bound bus parked before a private travels office in the New Bus Stand area here, police said.

The bag belonged to an Indore-based trader, Jayant Jain who after keeping the bag under the seat in the bus, got down for a cup of tea, a police official said.

According to eyewitnesses, the bag was taken away by two youths after stuffing it in a sack. They left the spot in a car.

Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Vinod Shrivastava said the theft is being investigated and roads in all directions were cordoned off for carrying out searching.

A complaint has been filed by the trader in Harda Police Station, the SDOP added.
