Tribunal to adjudicate declaration of SIMI as unlawful

The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal will hold a two-day sitting at Coonoor on June 19 to adjudicate on declaring the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) an unlawful association.

During the sitting, the Tribunal,presided over by Justice Suresh Kait, Judge of Delhi High Court, will adjudicate on declaring SIMI as unlawful association under Section 3(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967, a release from District Collector Archana Patnaik said here today.

Those interested in giving evidence could file the affidavit (in duplicate) with the Registrar, UAPT, Delhi High Court, and should remain present in person on these dates for their cross examination, if any, before the Tribunal, the release added.
