Two Bangladeshi immigrants arrested in Assam

Two Bangladeshi migrants illegally residing here were arrested at Mikirbheta village in Assam's Morigaon district today, a district police official said.

Acting on a tip-off, police (Border) arrested the two Bangladeshis and declared as foreigners by the Morigaon District Foreigners Tribunal, the official said.

The foreigners, identified as Nantu Dey and Mantu Dey who migrated to Assam after 1971, were sent to the Foreigners Detention Camp in Goalpara, the sources added.
