Two children drown in river

Bodies of two children, missing since last evening, were retrieved today from a river near Pandalur, about 80 kms from here.

The students, the 12-year old Anamalai and Soorya (8), who had gone along with two friends to play, did not return home in Kundaladi yesterday, police said.

The two friends, faced with persistent questions, told the parents that both had fallen in Ponnani river while playing.
