Two cops get one year in jail in bribery case

A local court today sentenced two policemen including a sub-inspector to one year's rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case.

Principal special judge for ACB cases Victor Immanuel also imposed a fine of Rs 4,000 each on sub-inspector K Ramesh Goud and constable K P Babu (both once attached to Kachiguda police station here) under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

On November 4, 2006, the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials had trapped Goud and Babu while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a person.
