Two dead, one injured as trailer hits them

At least two men were killed and one got injured when a trailer knocked them down at suburban Wadala, police said today.

The incident occurred last evening at Bhakti Park Monorail Station in Wadala, police said.

Vinayak Dhage (23), Siddhesh Mase (25) and Siddhesh Chavan were mowed down by the trailer, an official said.

"The victims were taken to the nearby hospital, where Dhage and Mase were declared dead before admission, Sushil Kamble," a senior police inspector of Wadala truck terminal police station said.

Chavan is in a serious condition and is admitted to the ICU of the hospital, he said.
 

The driver of the vehicle tried to escape from the spot. However, police arrested the 45-year-old driver, the official said.

Further investigation is on, he said.
