Two drowned in Jagatsinghpur

Two minor boys drowned in a pond at Singirpur of Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday, the police said.

The two boys, aged 9 and 10 years, slipped deep into the water while taking a bath in the pond, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Jagatsinghpur, Sujogya Mishra said.

As they were not coming out of the pond for quite some time, some local youths jumped into the water body and fished out the bodies of both.

They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital where the doctors declared them dead, the SDPO said.
