Two drug peddlers held in J-K's Shopian

Two alleged drug peddlers were today arrested and four kg poppy straw was recovered from their possession in south Kashmir's Shopian district, police said.

"A police party laid a naka at Zainapora crossing. During checking, motorcycle-borne Riyaz Ahmad Makrooand Aurangzeb Bhat were intercepted.

"On search, four kg of poppy straw was recovered from their possession," a police spokesman said here.

A case under Act was registered against the duo and investigation taken up, the official said.
