Two engineering students dead as car falls into drain

Two persons were killed and another injured when the car in which they were travelling fell into a drain near Vemavaram village in Gudlavalleru mandal of Krishna district today evening.

All three were third-year students of an engineering college at Gudlavalleru, and were heading for Machilipatnam.

The car overturned because of overspeeding and fell into drain, killing Sainadh (19) and Naveen (19) on the spot, police said. Both hailed from Machilipatnam.

The injured student was admitted to Machilipatnam Government Hospital and his condition was said to be stable, said assistant police sub-inspector N Subba Rao.
