Two held in Malda with poppy seeds and ganja

Two persons, Raju Sheikh and Amirul Alam were arrested while raids were carried out at two separate places, Mohanpur and Bamontola, within limits of Kaliachak and Baisnabnager police stations, the police said today.
The Malda district police special team formed for crime control in Malda, specially for Kaliachak and Baisnabnagar areas, recorved 1 kilograms of Brown sugar, two and half quintals of poppy seeds and 500 grams of Ganja from their possession.
The police also recovered Rs 7 lakh 50 thousand from Amiruls possession, SP of Malda district Arnab Ghosh said during a press meet in Kaliachak police station today.
In an another incident, a NIA team with the help of police today recovered fake notes in denomination of Rs 2000 amounting to Rs three lack 90 thousand. The police arrested Habibur Rahaman and Fakirul Aiam both residents of Baisnabnagar area in Kanir More on Malda Town.
