Two men accused of attacking three persons of a family with hockey sticks and leaving them injured have been sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment by a Delhi court.
Additional Sessions Judge P S Teji handed down the jail term to east Delhi residents Prabhat and Amit for attempting to commit culpable homicide under section 308 of the IPC.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the convicts with a direction that the amount be given to all three victims, Ramanand and his nephews Pankaj and Hitesh, in equal proportion.

The duo were also held guilty for the offences under section 452 (house-trespass), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of Rs 50 or above) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
The court relied on the testimonies of the victims and their medical reports while convicting them.
"I am of the firm view that statement of victim alone is sufficient to base conviction if his solitary testimony inspires confidence of the court. Testimony of injured persons has duly been corroborated by medical evidence," the judge said.
"The injuries as reflected from the medical reports of injured persons duly proves the case of prosecution and corroborates the testimony of injured that they received injuries on their vital organ i.E. Head," the court noted.
According to the prosecution, Ramanand had lodged a complaint that on February 26, 2010, his son had sprayed water on Prabhat and his associates on Holi.
This offended Prabhat who hurled abuses and left the place only to return a few minutes later with hockey sticks and iron rods, it said.
It further said that Prabhat with five others smashed the windows of Ramanand's house and when he tried to stop them, they beat him too. Seeing this, his nephews intervened and they too were injured. His sister-in-law was an eyewitness to the incident.
Police had arrested Prabhat and his five accomplices out of whom four were let off as they could not be identified by the victims. Hence, Prabhat and Amit were tried in court.
Both the convicts had pleaded innocence and sought leniency from the court on the ground that they were married and had minor children to look after.
