Two minor girls - of seven years and three years - were allegedly raped in two separate incidents on the Diwali evening in the district, police said today.
In the first incident, one Rahis (25) allegedly raped a 3-year-old girl at a locality under Brahmpuri police stataion on Wednesday, the Diwali evening, police said.
He picked up the girl on the pretext of buying her toffees when she was playing outside her home, police said.
He took her to a secluded place and allegedly raped her, a police spokesperson said.
He said that Rahis fled the spot when the girl's condition deteriorated.
The girl's family members admitted her to a hospital and lodged a case against the accused who was arrested today and sent to jail, police said.
In the second incident the same day a 7-year-old was allegedly raped by one Vishal (20) in Pallavpuram area, police said.
He also lured the girl by offering to buy her toffees and took her to a secluded place on his motorbike and allegedly raped her, police said.
They said that they have got medical test done on the girl and registered a case against the accused.
They said that they are looking for the accused.
