Two persons drown in J-K

In two separate incidents, a teenage boy today drowned when he was taking bath in a river at Kishtwar, while a 32-year-old man was feared dead in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Hashim Hussain (14) was taking a bath in a river at Mughalmaidan area of Kishtwar district when he slipped and drowned, they said.

His body was fished out from the river and sent for post-mortem, police said, adding it would be handed over to his family members for last rites after completing formalities.

In another incident, a 32-year-old man was feared to have drowned in a river at the Rajouri district of Jammu region.
 

"A man identified as Shailendra Kumar is feared to have drowned when he was taking a bath in a river here today. He had come with his family on an outing," a police official said.

Search operation has been launched to retrieve the body, he said.
