Two Trinamool Congress supporters were arrested for riding motorcycles on way to a party rally at Harinkhola in Hooghly district today.
Police said Bhadreswar Samanto and Bidyut Manna were intercepted on way to a meeting to be addressed by party leader Mukul Roy as they were riding in two motorcycles with Trinamool flag attached with it.
Four two-wheelers were seized.
The arrests were made in the wake of the State Election Commission's directive against bike rallies for panchayat poll campaign and yesterday's observations of Calcutta High Court single-bench about its implementation.
