Unhappy with your weight? Measure it on another planet!

The new bathroom scales on sale through US retailer Hammacher-Schlemmer for USD 50 can tell dieters exactly how much they would weigh on a range of planets - and even give them handy educational facts about the solar system, the Daily Mail reported.

It is preprogrammed with details for seven planets and the earth's moon and can accurately tell people how much they would weigh on each planet, taking into account its different gravitational forces.

Voiced by astrophysicist Dr Neil deGrasse Tyson, the mat's speaker produces a series of facts as people step onto each planet, introducing the concepts of gravity, weight, and mass.

 

To use the gadget, people stand on a conventional weighing scale, where their 'real' weight is displayed.

By standing on one of the planets on the mat, they are told their weight on it, and educational facts about the planet.
