Uttar Pradesh government today transfered the Superintendent of Police at Fatehpur, after incidents of communal violence were reported from the area.
The government today transferred SP Om Prakash Srivastava posted at Fatehpur after reports of communal tension, a release said.
While Srivastava has been sent to police headquarters Allahabad, Rajiv Malhatora, Additional SP posted in Lucknow has been sent to Fatehpur as new SP, it said.
SP Sonebhadra, Shiv Shankar Yadav, who is on leave has been replaced by commandant, PAC, Kanpur, Ram Lal Verma, the release added.
Communal tension prevailed in Fathepur last week during the immersion of Goddess Durga idols.
