UP: Police baton charge BJP youth activists, 8 injured

At least eight BJP youth activists were injured today, when police used baton to disperse them while they went to the office of the city magistrate to hand over a memorandum seeking arrest of Uttar Pradesh minister Mohd Azam Khan.
Police used the force to prevent the activists, seeking arrest of Khan in connection with the Muzaffarnagar violence, from entering the office this afternoon, sources said.
The injured BJP workers were admitted to hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.
Later, several BJP leaders, including former MP Satyadev Singh, reached the spot and demanded immediate action against the policemen involved in the act.
