"After March 16 the incidents of dacoity, loot, kidnapping and atrocities on women have tremendously decreased in the state", Additional Director General, Law and Order Jagmohan Yadav told reporters here.
In reply to a question, the officer claimed that except in Bareilly and Mathura, there were no incidents of communal violence.
Giving details of action initiated against gangs involved in organised crime, Yadav said that 75 people carrying reward of Rs 10 thousand or more were arrested and six were killed in encounter.
Among those arrested included naxalites Munna Vishwakarma and Lalvrat Kol carrying a cash reward of Rs two lakh and Rs one lakh respectively, he said, adding that 24 kidnappers were arrested in six separate cases.
