UP STF arrests notorious criminal

STF sources said the criminal, Guddu alias Virendra, was arrested by a team of the Task Force along with a police team of Gautam Budhnagar district from near Nagla trisection in Satva village yesterday after an encounter.

Four of his associates, however, managed to escape, the sources said.

Guddu was wanted in connection with the July 8 kidnapping of Satyendra Narain Singh, Additional Director Research and Development Department, Petroleum Conservation Research Centre Delhi.

He was also wanted in 26 cases including bank robbery, loot, kidnapping and Arms Act.

A resident of Greater Noida, Singh was later rescued on July 15 and his three kidnappers arrested.

 

A revolver, pistol, country made gun and cartridges were recovered from Guddu's possession, they said.
