WABCO India Q2 net rises 54% to Rs 48.31 crore

Auto component manufacturer WABCO India has recorded a 54.5 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 48.31 crore for the July-September quarter.

The Chennai-based company had registered a net profit at Rs 31.26 crore during the year-ago period, WABCO India said in a BSE filing.

Total income from operations for the quarter under review rose to Rs 428.91 crore from Rs 323 crore recorded during the same period last year.

For the half-year period ending September 30, the net profit of the company grew by 54.7 per cent to Rs 95.80 crore from Rs 61.92 crore registered during the corresponding period of the previous year.
 

For the six-month period, total income from operations surged to Rs 813.95 crore against Rs 646.59 crore in the same period of the previous year.

In a separate filing, the company said that Shivaram Narayanswami and Sean Ernest Deason have been appointed as non-executive, non-independent directors with immediate effect.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 6,560, down by 1.37 per cent over the previous close on the BSE.
